1709 Drop Dead Gorgeous Kiel, Germany Silver Dognose Tablespoon

$800.00
A love story in a spoon. Just an incredible early 18th century German wedding spoon given to the couple in 1709, C.A:R.H their married attached initials. Made by hand in the dognose pattern from solid silver and bearing the town marks of Kiel, Germany. The maker mark of IB in a heart-shaped cartouche is known by German collectors but has not yet been identified to a person. Condition is just superb and the proportions are fascinating being short, wide and squat. Gauge is straight medium being usable for certain for reasonable duty. Condition and finish are magnificent as it has never in the over three centuries been over-polished. Marks are strong and clear. A remarkable example you will never see anywhere but DC Silver.
