1680-85 Parcel Gilt Augsburg Altar Cruet by Isaak Fischer

A little parcel gilt altar cruet well marked for Augsburg and for the maker Isaak Fischer. Simple and plain in form with embellishments in the form of gilding as well as the pie crust lid. Comes apart via a central screw between the base and the vessel. Marked distinctly on the lid, vessel, and foot in each for the maker mark IF in an oval, and the Augsburg acorn mark. Tremolierstriches in various locations. condition is good. Lid hinge could stand a little tighten and the cruet could use a quick and easy straighten at the foot. Recently conserved by master silversmith, Jeffrey Herman.
