1680-1750 Silver Adornment or Buckle 17th Century
$350.00
This intriguing item is a late 17th century or early 18th century European adornment that was converted to a buckle. The original purpose is not known however a small hole penetrates each of the four lobe and there is pinpoint engraving (in the Northern European style) beneath the buckle predating that addition. It might have adorned a church book or coffer. Across the front of this item, it is adorned with five saints. Saint Christopher and others not identified. Fascinating piece.
Add a new custom leather strap to this buckle in walnut, chestnut, or black. It takes 1-2 weeks and I can provide an estimate (starting at about $50) based on the particular strap needed. Convo for details.
3.5" x 4".
